Strawberry Hill Nursery is located in Edinburgh, midway between Prestonfield and The Grange, on the corner of Minto Street and Blacket Avenue. Our nursery is set within a stunning, traditional Victorian villa which has been refurbished to the highest standards.
Our nursery is served by excellent public transport links and is just a short drive from the city bypass and the wider motorway network. We have a large off street car park at the back of the building with access to the entrance allowing easy and safe drop off and collection.
Nursery Playrooms & Garden Area
Our nursery interior is carefully designed and has a number of rooms offering dedicated play areas for each age group. Rooms are well laid out and offer an excellent range of resources to support early learning and education. There is a splendid all year round outdoor area where our children enjoy regular fresh air, exercise, growing their own vegetables and learning across all areas of the Curriculum. Our mud kitchen is a huge success with our children having great times cooking up numerous sludgy concoctions for us to enjoy. Like us on Facebook to see our many creations!
Our nursery staff and children make fantastic use of the many surrounding facilities available in the local area and Edinburgh wide, including parks such as the Meadows, theatres, the local library and many more. There is a lively and energetic buzz to our playrooms where our children enjoy an extensive range of learning opportunities with staff committed to creating an atmosphere of care, respect, learning and fun.
We are registered to care for 100 children from 12 weeks to 5 years of age.
Early Years Care & Education
Our nursery is an established and trusted early years education centre, in the heart of Edinburgh, with over a decade of experience caring for and educating young children. Our nursery has won local and national awards in recognition for its exceptional quality standards. Have a peek at our Awards and Accolades.
Additional Development Opportunities
Our nursery is dedicated to providing a variety of learning opportunities, through quality childcare and education:
- Nursery Teacher - We benefit from having our own 3-5's teacher who provides focused learning activities and opportunities to encourage each child's development.
- Bi-lingual Nursery Practitioners - We are lucky to have bi-lingual staff who are able to support children in their first language, or in exploring new languages. This not only helps children settle well into nursery, but also provides opportunity to better understand and celebrate children's cultures and heritage. We currently have nursery practitioners who speak fluent Polish and Greek.
- Nursery Pets - Our nursery has a very special family member 'Blue Star' our pet snail. Our children enjoy caring for, observing and feeding him during the day.
